Before you come

Frequently asked.

Is the butchery halal?

Yes — the butchery at Mega Food Centre is 100% halal certified, and only halal meat is handled at the counter. Certification is displayed at the counter for anyone who would like to see it.

Where exactly is Mega Food Centre?

We are at 1-3 Station Parade on Whitchurch Lane, Edgware HA8 6RW — next door to Melissa Restaurant and about two minutes on foot from Canons Park station on the Jubilee line.

What time are you open?

Mega Food Centre is open from 6am until midnight, seven days a week, bank holidays aside. The butchery and bakery counters keep the same hours as the shop.

Do you sell Turkish, Polish and Romanian food?

We do. The shop is built around European and Turkish groceries: Turkish cheeses, oils and teas, Polish deli meats and dairy, Romanian preserves and confectionery, alongside Greek, Balkan, Middle Eastern and everyday British brands.

Is there a bakery?

Yes. Bread is delivered and baked through the day — British loaves and baguettes, Turkish pide and sesame simit, pitta, naan and lavash — plus a baklava and pastry counter.

Do you have an off licence?

We are fully licensed for beers, wines and spirits. Photo ID is required if you look under 25.

Can I order meat in advance?

Of course. Speak to the butchery counter for larger orders — whole lamb, party trays and speciality cuts for celebrations are all no trouble with a little notice.
