Halal means halal
The butchery is 100% halal certified and only halal meat is handled at the counter. The certificate is on display, and we would rather you asked than wondered.

Home/Our Story
Since 2025
Opened in November 2025 with balloons across the front and the Mayor of Harrow holding the scissors — and a very simple idea behind it.
Canons Park is one of the most mixed corners of north-west London. The idea was to build a shop that could feed all of it, properly, from one trolley.
For years, doing a full weekly shop around here meant three stops: the supermarket for the milk and the washing powder, a drive to Green Lanes or Wood Green for the Turkish end of the list, and somewhere else again for a halal butcher you actually trusted. Mega Food Centre exists so that all of that fits under one blue awning on Whitchurch Lane.
We opened in November 2025. The Mayor of Harrow cut the ribbon, the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye came along, Turkish media filmed the queue, and half the neighbourhood came for a look. It was, by any measure, a good morning.
Since then the job has been the unglamorous one: keeping the produce fresh, the bread coming, the butchery honest and the shelves stocked with the things people actually ask for. When somebody requests a brand we do not carry, we write it down. Most of the time it is on the shelf a fortnight later.

How we run it
The butchery is 100% halal certified and only halal meat is handled at the counter. The certificate is on display, and we would rather you asked than wondered.
Produce is bought for the counter rather than for a warehouse. It turns over quickly, it is priced by the kilo, and what does not sell does not sit.
The range follows the neighbourhood, not a buying department three counties away. Ask for something and it usually appears.
Shelf edges, kilo prices and honest multibuys. No loyalty card needed to get the good price.
Fresh produce, quality groceries, halal butcher, bakery and everyday essentials.Harrow Online · 30 November 2025
The neighbourhood
We are on Whitchurch Lane next door to Melissa Restaurant, a short walk from Canons Park station and a few minutes from Edgware, Stanmore, Queensbury and Burnt Oak.
